christmas playlist 2017

Hello everyone! I’ve been really wanting to get into blogging again so I decided this month I’m going to do a ‘blogmas’ where I blog every day of December! And what better way to kick off the month of December than with a Christmas playlist? This playlist is a mix of songs that have been on my Christmas playlists for years, like River by Joni Mitchell and some I’ve found this year. You can listen to the songs on YouTube by clicking on the song name or in the Spotify playlist link below! Enjoy and stay tuned for more posts and Christmas goodness!

ben howard

last night, i went to one of the best live performances i have ever seen (sorry railroad revival tour). i saw ben howard at the troubadour in los angeles with a few friends not expecting much but boy, was i blown away. seriously the only way i can describe it is magical. he has the most amazing sweet and simple style of singing. its so raw and real. and he just seems like a beautiful person. he’s too ridiculously talented and adorable for his own good! here are a few of my favorite songs of his plus a genius cover of Call Me Maybe:

i’m in the dominican republic right now spending my spring break on a mission trip with my church. these pictures are from the railroad revival concert i went to at the start of my spring break. its taken me forever to finally get the pictures sorted and edited because i took over 500! such a great show! possibly best i’ve seen! mumford and sons is one of the loves of my life but since i already saw them last year, i mainly went for edward sharpe and they did not disappoint! kayla and i scored spots in the front so it felt like we were part of the show with alex ebert jumping in the audience and dancing along with us and the incredible energy on stage. thanks edward sharpe, mumford and old crow medicine show for such an unforgettable night.

have you heard of mumford and sons? if not, you’re in for a treat! they are an indie folk band from england and their songs have been on repeat in my head since i first heard them. they have a lovely, old fashion sound that reminds me of sixties folk rock. i’m going to their concert on june 4th and i would be lying if i said i wasn’t beyond excited! here are of few of my favorites tunes of theirs. have a listen

style icon – Joni Mitchell

Photobucket

I love the 1960s. Everything about it is amazing: the clothes, the music, the ideals. My mum was a hippy so I think it’s in the bloodstream. Even when I was young, my mum would always play Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, James Brown and my favorite, Joni Mitchell. Some of my earliest memories are of my mum putting on Carey by Joni Mitchell in the car and singing along. Since then, Joni Mitchell has been one of my favorite singers and style icons.
