cincinnati revisited + an announcement

i’ve been pretty quiet about my next step on social media but i’m finally ready to blog about it. i am happy to announce i have been accepted to the premiere college in the nation for my major and i couldn’t be more excited! this has been my dream school since i was seven years old and my friend’s father, a shoe designer for nike, told me it was his alma mater and the best place to study design! when i was a senior in high school and making the big decision of what schools to apply for, i visited university of cincinnati, along with ohio state and cedarville, where i eventually ended up. i was beyond impressed with uc’s industrial design program and the school in general but the art department was undergoing some big changes and it just didn’t feel right for me at the time. the program encourages so much independence that i don’t think my seventeen year old self was ready for. fast forward a few years and i finally decided to apply last summer. i knew i was a transfer student so it would be next to impossible to get in but God is a god of the impossible and if He wanted me there, i knew i would get in. after months and months of prolonged waiting, i got my acceptance email during my last week in york! it was bitter sweet because i knew my time in england was over but i am over the moon for what is next. i leave in august so i still have a little of summer to savor but i am counting down the days till we road trip out to ohio. while looking through an old hard drive, i found these pictures i took when i visited all those years ago. little did i know down the line, after i had already experienced a year of college, made so many amazing friends, learned another language and lived in three different countries, that i would be back as a student. God surely works in mysterious ways.

every once in a while on my walks around campus, i would bring along my pola if it was an especially pretty day. wherever i see these pictures on my wall, i am constantly reminded of how blessed i was to live in such a beautiful place. i think the first picture perfectly sums up new zealand: rustic and green with a limitless, sprawling sky. God bless new zealand

i finally found the time to scan in some of the polaroids i took in new zealand this past semester. one of my biggest regrets first semester was not bringing my polaroid camera so i made sure it tagged along with me when i went back again. as i looked through the pictures i had captured, all the amazing memories from the semester came rushing back. these are a few of my favorite polaroids that i will cherish forever.

1. lunching at mister d’s// 2. the tauranga shoreline// 3. my bedroom second semester// 4. the most lovely sunset i’ve ever seen// 5. boats in russell// 6. graduation dinner, one of the best nights of my life// 7. on the rotorua tarmac once last time

new york revisited

83250025

i’ve been missing new york so much lately. of all the cities i’ve been to, new york city has got to be the one my heart gravitates towards the most. the more i go, the more i love it. when i was in 7th grade, i was blessed enough to spend two months on the upper east side for a ballet intensive and this past spring, i spent a week in greenwich village. here are some film pictures i took on my last visit to nyc.

cedarville the beautiful

i was looking through some old instax photos and i found these pictures i took on my last week at my college. looking at them made me miss college life: waking up every morning to edward sharpe with my roommate, walking to get coffee at the most random times, morning chapels, reading my bible by the lake, late nights in the art lab with amazingly talented people, the mile long walk into town to get decent food, having to schedule my every minute in order to be productive, being creative in cafeteria, baking to de-stress with the unit mates, way too much time wasted spent on pinterest, rain, rain and more rain, making playlists for normal tasks like walking to class and studying, dressing up for no reason, sunday church rides, exploring the ohio area when i had a chance (and a car), attending tennis matches to cheer on my roomie, learning new things everyday and everything else in-between. i was so blessed to spend a year at such a fantastic place with such fantastic people. the times i spent there were some of the best of my life, especially the last few weeks of school. though i know God has other things for me, i will always feel extremely blessed and thankful when i think of the friends and memories i made my freshman year of college.
