my best friend ellie and i have a bible study through the book of james every week at a different coffee shop. we alternate who choses which coffee shop and we attempt to surprise each other but i have a knack for guessing ellie’s choices. this past week, ellie choose le pain quotidien at fashion island (still proud of guessing this one) and though i’ve been there many times for lunch or coffee, it is especially wonderful for breakfast. the scrambled tofu was a great vegan option and the soy belgian chocolate was par excellence! i’m so greatful for friends who are up for anything! ellie, just wait for my next coffee shop pick 😉
as you read this, i am probably on a plane over the ocean on my way to new zealand to embark on my second semester of classes. so exciting! looking forward to meeting lots of new people, going new places and growing in my faith. here are a few pictures i took with my film camera around campus from last semester
ps: mad props to anyone who knows where this post title reference is from
hume lake is a christian youth camp in central california. it is a beautiful area and one of the best parts of visiting is the random people i always seen to run into. this trip, i ran into my friend erika and her family as well as some kids from my high school. such an unexpected surprise! the lake is so gorgeous and lazily floating on water is the most peaceful thing i can imagine. sometimes when i’m stressed, i imagine floating on the lake without a care in the world. this is the life.
this is my last post in california. leaving is so bitter sweet as always. i have to say this was the longest summer of my life. in ways, it felt like years and in ways, it felt like it flew by far too fast. isn’t that how summers always are though? i had such a blessed summer. i have always seen bloggers do ‘year in review’ posts around the new years but since i had such a long, full summer, i wanted to look back and remember some of my favorite moments and memories before i take off for new zealand. goodbye summer and goodbye america. till we meet again.
